About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer or an Electrical Engineer with a consultant’s background to join our team and grow along with the business. In this role you will produce pre-installation design services and electrical compliance for Solar PV, Battery Storage, and energy monitoring solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing engineering design input to major renewable energy development projects through various lifecycle stages (concept to contract award handover).
- Design commercial, industrial and utility scale solar PV installations.
- Develop electrical specification and schematics for C&I solar PV and battery storage installations.
- Ensure compliance with wiring regulations, electrical safety standards and codes.
- Provide cable calculations using Trimble Pro Design and optimize the LV systems.
- Preparing project technical submissions which encompass all preconstruction design information and literature.
- Interpret site pre-installation survey information and produce a detailed design in line with scope, specifications and industry regulations.
Skills and Expertise:
- Degree / HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Ability to use Amtech / Trimble Pro-design or equivalent electrical design tool.
- Ability to use AutoCAD in producing pre-installation and As fitted drawings.
- Understand scope of work, specifications, programs, and cost control of tender documents.
- Understanding of the contract conditions and obligations.
- Ability to complete survey & reporting on existing buildings & infrastructure.
- An understanding of current Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and Legislative Requirements.
- A practical knowledge of how electrical installations are assembled and installed.
- Ability to interpret Subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Ability to check drawings for accuracy and buildability.
- Produce quotations using Microsoft Word and Excel.
