About the Role:
The role is to carry out HV cable jointing and switchgear installations on 11kV-33kV networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Joint/terminate all types of High Voltage and cables up to 33kv.
- Experienced at installed transformers and HV switchgear.
- Experience in maintaining HV equipment including HV protection relay testing.
- Potential to act as a lead hand on large projects.
- Competent person who can accept permits/safety documents.
- Check and inspect work undertaken by the team for quality and safety standards.
- Coach and guide other staff including instructions to colleagues in completing tasks.
- To ensure that all project health and safety issues are addressed.
- Recognise and comply with health and safety responsibilities.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experienced in the installation of High Voltage cables including jointing and terminations.
- Experience in low-voltage switching operations.
- Using heavy plant equipment such as elevated work platforms.
- Knowledge in substation installation.
- Valid JIB CSCS Card.
- Ability to work co-operatively and effectively with Project Engineers.
- Valid full UK driving license.
- Right to work within UK without restriction.
