About the Role:

In this role you will be working with your Line Manager to ensure the smooth and seamless installation of all solar thermal, PV and battery storage and systems. As you will also be acting as the initial company contact for all technical customer enquiries it is crucial that you are able to communicate at all levels effectively and are confident in your knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage and manage installers & sub-contractors, where necessary attending site.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving Electrical Certification for both internal and sub-contractor personnel.
  • Research and development of new and existing products as identified by self and/or management.
  • Provide product installation support for customers, contractors, and installers.
  • Performance management of installers and Sub-Contractors; identification of skills gaps and co-ordination of learning and development needs.
  • Identify changing dynamics in the solar energy market and seek opportunities for my client to capitalise.
  • Provide technical support to the Directors and technical authority in the absence of the Engineering Managers.
  • Participate in learning and development (including training) to achieve relevant knowledge, skills and understanding.
  • Work on a day-to-day basis in line with the company’s core values.
  • Other duties reasonably requested by Managers/Directors.

Key Skills and Expertise:

  • Robust technical knowledge in Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline or similar.
  • Accuracy in all tasks and strong attention to detail.
  • Confident and determined approach.
  • High degree of self-motivation and ambition.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible approach to work with an ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively.
  • A strong interest in renewable energy in particular solar PV and battery storage.

Desirable Skills and Expertise:

  • Awareness/knowledge of current wiring regulations & electrical practices.
  • Technical drawing ability.
  • Experience with handling multiple concurrent projects.
